Our Story

Cappasity Inc. develops and operates a cloud-based platform that enables online stores to create and deliver three-dimensional (3D), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) shopping experience. The company provides Easy 3D Scan, a professional 3D digitizing software. It offers free and subscription based solutions to create 3D images; as well as integrate 3D product images into e-commerce stores, websites, and mobile apps.

Cappasity Inc. was founded in late 2013 by Kosta Popov (LinkedIn) who has more than 10 years of experience in the area of 3D technology and IT business development. The team includes technology experts in the field of computer vision, SaaS solutions, 3D engine development for apps, 3D mobile and video games.

Cappasity has successfully raised over $1.4M from angel investors since 2014 and is based in Santa Clara, California.

In March 2017 Cappasity joined Plug and Play Retail Batch 7 accelerator.





Kosta Popov (LinkedIn) founded his first company in 2005. Since 2005, Kosta was producing software and games projects for PC, Sony PSP, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Apple iOS, Google Android, Web/SaaS and signed more than 20 product distribution agreements and partnerships contracts.

Alex Chegaev, Cappasity’s CTO and Co-Founder, has strong expertise in 3D technologies and has worked with Kosta as a technical lead of several cross-platform software projects. Marianna Alshina (LinkedIn), Cappasity’s CBDO and Co-Founder, has a digital marketing and business development background. She joined the team in 2015 and is now building relationships with the company’s core partners.

He also has broad experience representing issuers, underwriters, trustees and servicers in public and private offerings of asset-backed securities as well as lenders and borrowers in a variety of debt finance transactions.

Jeff Smith has over 30 years domestic and international high technology sales, marketing, business development, corporate development and venture capital experience in multiple industry markets.

Jeff was most recently with RBM Technologies, a leading cloud based retail software company that was successfully sold. Prior to RBM, Jeff was the Founding and Managing Partner of XcelR8 Partners that provided business development consulting services to accelerate revenue traction for early stage companies.

Jeff has held executive positions at other software companies including Commerce One as VP of Business Development, Corporate Development and GM of Commerce One Ventures. Prior, he held leadership roles in sales, business development, marketing, and product line management at BlueCurve (acquired by Red Hat), Sybase, Technology Concepts (acquired by Bell Atlantic) and Unisys.

Jeff has angel investment, advisory and board of directors experience at for profit and non-profit organizations.
